Log
2026
Log for Raawii is a wooden chair defined by its rounded legs, continuous curved backrest, and straightforward construction. The project distils the familiar image of a chair into its most essential elements, combining a strong graphic presence with an honest expression of materials and structure.
Drawing inspiration from vernacular log furniture — simple chairs traditionally assembled from timber poles and planks — as well as the clarity and radical reduction of twentieth-century modernist design, Log translates these references into a contemporary object characterised by clear geometry, balanced proportions, and an archetypal silhouette.
Constructed from a small family of wooden components, the chair celebrates the enduring qualities of wood and craftsmanship. Its simple yet distinctive construction balances robustness and elegance, creating a familiar object conceived for everyday use and longevity.
While the structure remains constant, Log is conceived as a platform for variation. Available in a range of colours, the chair features an interchangeable seat that can be specified in painted wood, upholstery, or woven materials. This flexible system allows different combinations of colour, texture, and material, creating distinct expressions while preserving the design's clear identity.
